Meet Our Trustees
The Ifakara Bakery Project is guided by a dedicated Board of Trustees who generously give their time, expertise and leadership to support the charity's mission. Together, they provide strategic direction, ensure strong governance and help us continue making a lasting difference to communities in Ifakara, Tanzania.

My parents founded the IBP, and I became actively involved in 2019, helping with the daily administration. It is inspiring to be a part of a project that makes a significant difference in the lives of others and an honour to serve my parents’ legacy.

I have been involved with the project since the beginning. I was a headteacher of a junior school when I first became a trustee. Margaret, one of the founders, was my piano teacher and had regularly been telling me what she and her husband were trying to do in Ifakara. I was keen to become involved as the bakery was going to provide bread for children in schools, and I was very aware that children learn much better when they are well fed.
